Resumen
This paper will present the process and results of the implementation of a supercapacitor bank as a storage system and energy supply to a load. For the realization of the project, a supercapacitor bank module was implemented as a storage system, which consists of 6 supercapacitors in series, the energy delivered by the bank will be directed to an elevator type DC/DC converter whose purpose is to deliver the energy required by the load, it is established that the maximum values delivered by the converter will be 40V and 1A.The prototype consists of a supercapacitor module followed by a step-up DC/DC converter and the power delivery system, which has a feedback that aims to maintain stable the voltage required by the load. However, in order to perform the power delivery tests it is necessary to charge the supercapacitor module, therefore a model was designed which provides the necessary current and voltage, it is important to clarify that this charging system is not part of the prototype. The efficiency of the module was evaluated with different loads, where a voltage value was guaranteed in each of the cases and the load was changed, obtaining a delivered energy of approximately 1.9 Wh, obtaining better efficiency than with the Li-ion batteries which delivered an energy of approximately 0.9 Wh, thus determining that the scaled supercapacitor module is a more favorable option than the Li-ion batteries with which it was compared.
