Resumen
The characterization of populations in academic contexts is essential for understanding the social, economic, and labor dynamics that influence the performance and well-being of members of an educational institution. At the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Francisco José de Caldas District University, descriptive research is conducted with the purpose of identifying and analyzing the sociodemographic characteristics of teachers. This study is the result of collaboration between the research seedbed SEICOECOL and the University Welfare Office, aiming not only to improve internal processes and decision-making but also to address the specific needs of educators, increase job satisfaction, and mitigate the risks associated with underutilization of institutional benefits. Methodologically, systematic literature review is employed, keywords are identified, and search equations are developed for the identification and definition of variables, and a data collection instrument is designed using stratified random sampling. The instrument is designed and applied through a Microsoft form using institutional email, with the obtained results subjected to descriptive statistical analysis and data visualization using Microsoft Excel, obtaining a detailed profile of the teaching staff, and drawing relevant conclusions with the collected information, proposing future research lines to more effectively address the demands of this population and guide appropriate strategies.
