Resumen
Currently more than half of the world's population lives in cities, and their number is projected to increase in the coming decades. Good planning and management in the city is the basis for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. This study analyzes three instruments for the management of urban trees, in order to define the most relevant and strategic aspects to consider within a unified proposal. Initially, SWOT Matrices were created to know the characteristics and structure of each plan and thus be able to carry out a comparative exercise. Next, a survey was developed that was applied to Forest Engineers with experience in tree management, in order to know their perception of which components they considered important for the content of a management plan. As a result From the comparative analysis, each city stands out with different strategies in political, social and green infrastructure areas, however, the entire implementation of its plans has not been developed in a unified manner but rather based on the work of the environmental authority with its political initiatives and management. In accordance with the strategies highlighted in each plan, the FAO urban forestry guidelines and the opinion of professionals, a content proposal was prepared, which can serve as a guide to be adopted by any city. It should be noted that the suggested content contains all the strategies and actions for a management plan to be successful and a planning guide tool for adequate management of the tree heritage of cities.
