Resumen
The saline chamber is a device that allows corrosion tests to be carried out much faster, with the assistance of a corrosive atmosphere formed by a saline mist, allowing to identify which materials are appropriate and meet the requirements for a specific application, due to the fact that Corrosion causes failures, such as fractures start, decrease in mechanical resistance in structures or machines and contaminates products. A saline chamber was designed and manufactured that executes the technical specifications of the ASTM B117 standard, this equipment allows the Francisco José de Caldas District University to develop different experiments for the analysis of resistance to corrosion in different metallic elements and coatings, allowing groups and seedbeds in the area of tribology and failure analysis to obtain more knowledge on this subject and achieve technological advances that allow avoiding the corrosion process
