Informe de pasantía: importancia social y económica de la producción panelera en Colombia

Abstract

This document presents a report called: The social and economic importance of ‘panela’ (unrefined whole cane sugar) production in Colombia. Carried out in the first semester of 2019 together with Doña Panela Corporation. The student of ‘Distrital University Francisco José de Caldas’ and Doña Panela Corporation working together in a voluntary agreement will develop an action plan for the fulfillment of the proposed activities. This will be aid by using and updating the existing databases, both digital and published. This investigation aims to cover the impact of ‘panela’ manufacturing activities on the sustainability of farmer families working on the production of this product, taking into account the intensity of family work. Is worth mentioning that the production of ‘panela’ as one of the most traditional rural agricultural industries in Colombia. The main goal is investigation is to create a systematization process developed in conjunction with Doña Panela Corporation that will aid in the improvement of the data processing of future studies, and can be used to propose more efficient lines of work that involve all the social actors of the panela’ production process.
