Resumen
This research shows the possibilities that social meanings have in understanding of the ecological and distribuve conflict presented of the Doña Juana Landfill. Since colonial times, the garbage has been set as an aesthetic and public health problem. District's authorities, far from giving long term solutions, have located landfills in the margins of the city, without taking into consideration the concentration processes experienced by urban centers and land planners. Within this framework, the Doña Juana Landfill is inaugurated, which, far from solving the final disposal ofwaste, becomes the axis of an ecological-distributive conflict, in which it struggles and fight for the territory and the natural resources that there meets up and face the social significance of district authorities, private operators and the mochuelo’s habitants
