Resumen
This paper addresses the recognition of environmental problems in urban growth areas of Zipaquirá, Colombia. This paper focuses on the perception and level of territorial ownership held by 8th grade students at the British School of Zipaquirá, in relation to the environmental problems arising from urban growth in their municipality. A Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach was used to engage students in the identification, analysis, and search for solutions to these local environmental problems, promoting greater student ownership of their territory, as evidenced by an increase in their knowledge of local environmental problems, a greater understanding of the causes and consequences of these problems, a greater ability to identify solutions and propose concrete actions, and a positive change in their attitudes and behaviors toward the environment.
