Resumen
The following degree work is the result of an investigation that was developed with third grade students of primary basic education of the Liceo Montessori school of the municipality of Soacha and whose objective is to identify the representations that the students of the pets have as living beings. To account for the representations, during the methodological process a sequence of activities was developed, characterized by four moments of interaction with the students, which after being; validated by experts, applied, systematized in MAXQDA®, allowed to obtain six categories of analysis that were nominated by the researcher and articulated with the theoretical framework. The results show six categories related to the meaning that pets have for children and how this is related to care, referring to the protection and security that gives them interact with their pets, and with it the desponsibility that should have children and families, when they decide to have a pet as a pet.
