Resumen
Remote sensing is an instrument designed to capture and monitor the earth's surface, allowing to generate databases from any part of the planet. With running time make it possible to know different places without having contact with them, making it easier to obtain satellite images with a focus on certain aspects, such as the behavior of contaminants in the atmosphere (Marino, Alfonso & Andrés, 2010). Sentinel 5P is a satellite of the European Space Agency, which is responsible for monitoring pollutants in the atmosphere using the Tropomi sensor (Tropospheric Monitoring Instrument) carrying out a cartographic mapping of the environmental situation throughout the planet in the period of 24 hours, providing data for monitoring air quality in the selected area of interest (Mohamed, 2021). It is important to mention that in Colombia there are no environmental data and indicators at the national level. national, this is due to the scarce implementation of Air Quality Surveillance Systems (SVCA). Where according to the figures provided by IDEAM in 2018 it was found in operation of 27 SVCA of the 136 SVCA that the country should have according to its population; These surveillance systems cover 22 of the 32 departments (Hernández & Obregón, 2020), values that raise questions about the behavior of pollutants and that are evidence of the current deficit in coverage both in rural areas and in urban areas. Due to the low coverage or availability of resources for the implementation of monitoring, remote sensing tools are used as an alternative way to know indicators of pollutant concentrations, in this case the Sentinel 5P Satellite is used, the which allows obtaining information that enables the evaluation of environmental conditions in municipalities with little information. In accordance with the above, it is proposed as the main objective of this work implement the Google Earth Enginer tool from the information presented from 𝑆𝑂2 by the Sentinel 5P Satellite in the evaluation of air quality in the municipality of Villa de Leyva-Boyacá, adapting the methodology presented by Forero 2019, in order to know the current condition of the study area and the possible impacts that may be occurring in the municipality of Villa of Leyva.
