Resumen
University environmental projects (PRAU) arise from the need to implement strategies that provide solutions to environmental problems in university institutions, which is why, based on social and environmental responsibility, PRAUs have been implemented in different universities. under the Colombian legal framework. A key concept that must be taken into account for the development of this project is the environment, according to the Environmental Education Program (2003), this is derived both from the complexity of environmental problems and potentialities and from the impact not only on the systems environmental, but in social systems. This is how environmental education plays a fundamental role in the integral formation of the individual, taking into account that "it is considered as the process that allows the individual to understand the relationships of interdependence with their environment, based on the reflective and critical knowledge of their environment." biophysical, social, political, economic and cultural reality, so that, from the approximation of concrete reality, attitudes of appreciation and respect for the environment can be generated in him and in his community”. Therefore, the University Environmental Projects allow the community to generate a social and environmental approach. Antonio Gomera, M. (2008) considers that greening the university consists of developing environmental management actions, in order to comply with the applicable environmental regulations and Once this need has been resolved, design and develop environmental improvement projects in the management of the University. However, in order to achieve better conceptual clarity, according to Llerena, E., et al. (2019) universities, as scenarios for the construction of knowledge, are of the greatest 8 importance for society in general and in particular for Environmental Management, not only for the theoretical contributions to the work itself, but also, for the possibilities of carry out reflective, informed and argumentative processes that can contribute to the feedback of public research and education policies.
