The Creole potato still does not have the highest quality standards, which makes its marketing and export very difficult. This is mainly based on the short duration of the biological cycle of this tuber after harvest; The postharvest half-life is the fundamental axis for the marketing of agricultural products. Ethylene is responsible for changes in organoleptic properties in the plant kingdom; The enzyme ACCs intervenes in the biosynthesis of ethylene, which limits ethylene production. The objective of this research is to compare the expression of the ST-ACS1A and ST-ACS2 gene that encode the ACC synthase enzyme, present in the ethylene pathway in twelve irradiated Solanum Tuberosum samples (Phureja group, Colombian Creole variety) with the radioisotope 60Co Vs an unirradiated control sample, in order to provide a solution to the following question of research Is there any difference in the expression of the ST-ACS1A and ST-ACS2 genes present in the ethylene biosynthetic pathway in Solanum Tuberosum tubers (Phureja group, Colombian Creole variety) irradiated with the radioisotope 60Co.
