Apoyo cartográfico en la formulación del Plan de Ordenación Forestal (POF) para los municipios dentro de la jurisdicción de la Corporación Autónoma Regional de Cundinamarca-CAR

Abstract

The Corporación Autónoma Regional de Cundinamarca (CAR), as the highest environmental authority in the territory, is responsible for executing policies, plans, programs, and projects on the environment and renewable natural resources. As part of the objectives set by the CAR for the period 2020 to 2023, the formulation and adoption of the Forest Management Plan is proposed; in this sense, national and regional environmental authorities have expressed the importance of cartography and geographic information systems as tools and technologies that facilitate decision making for those responsible for the management and administration of forest resources. During the internship, the cartographic information required for the forest zoning of the areas under CAR's jurisdiction was generated. Likewise, the geographic database (GBD) generated in this internship will serve as a future input in the management of forest resources and forest ecosystem services for their management and conservation under the country's forest development policies.
