Modelos de negocio para electrificación rural aislada y su aplicación en Colombia

Abstract

It is well known that there are several isolated areas in Colombia that do not have access to electric services due to lack of sustainable off-grid projects and the incapability in extending the national grid to those places. This document purpose is to propose the most appropriate business models to use in rural electrification projects throughout Colombia's departments, which actually could provide them with long-term sustainability. For this reason, in this document, the most successful electrification business models used in forty countries worldwide are compiled and then analyzed using Canvas methodology, then by analyzing the departments through different indicators, some criteria can be defined allowing to bind the eight business models with the thirty-two departments of Colombia. Finally, an evaluation is carried out by applying an indicator, created in this document, which results in the most appropriate business model for Colombia’s departments according to this approach.
