Resumen
This research highlights the importance of understanding, interpreting and valuing an argumentative text. The purpose of this research is to present the advances in the search for cognitive and metacognitive strategies that strengthen the critical reading of essays and critical thinking from a psycholinguistic perspective. According to Kurland (2005), critical reading is an important element for the critical thinking applicable in all personal life and it is the school, stage to help and develop it in students. The intervention population corresponds to 36 young people (18 girls and 18 boys) who oscillate from 15 to 19 years of age of 1101 course. J.M. of an Educative District Institution,16 Locality, socioeconomic stratum 3. Faced with the methodological framework, the work paradigm framed in an interpretive or hermeneutical field of investigation, a qualitative approach; the design follows an action research. At the didactic level, a stage of awareness raising and three didactic sequences, they are following the model of Anna Camps (2001). The results allow us to have a critical reader who reflects, identifies arguments and evaluates information, among others.
