Resumen
Taking into account the current development of bands in our country and the impossibility of presenting the version for solo guitar and orchestra live to the jury, it has been decided to transcribe the Colombian Concerto for this format and solo guitar, preserving as much as possible sonorities and environments similar to the orchestra, and maintaining the warmth and care with respect to the soloist's interpretation in the first version. In general, the sonority of the violins can be recognized distributed in the strings of flutes, oboes, and clarinets in Bb 1 and 2, the violas replaced by the saxophones, the flugelhorns and clarinets in Bb 3, the cellos distributed in the French horns and saxophones, maintaining a similar color in the two versions, greater support to the original string of the double bass with the tuba, the bass clarinet, the baritone saxophone and the bassoons, and a similar handling of the percussion and brass found in the orchestral version. Some chordal arrangements were substituted in favor of the acoustic functioning corresponding to the band format, as were some attacks and octaves necessary due to the special characteristics of this format.
