Resumen
In the dynamic context of urban mobility in Colombia, motorcycles have established themselves as one of the main means of transport, representing 62% of the national vehicle fleet. Bogotá, with approximately 680 thousand motorcycles circulating every day, faces significant challenges in terms of access to quality maintenance services. This growing need, together with the rise of digital platforms, presents an opportunity to transform the way in which bikers manage the care of their vehicles (andi, 2024). The central problem identified is the lack of efficient connection between bikers and mechanical workshops. Currently, users face difficulties in finding reliable services, comparing prices and scheduling maintenance comfortably. For their part, many workshops have limited visibility and struggle to attract and retain customers in a highly competitive market. This gap represents an obstacle for both bikers and workshops, affecting service quality and road safety. To address this problem, PitStop was developed, a digital platform that connects bikers with different types of biker-oriented services, giving them access to reliable services from the comfort of their homes. The solution allows users to register their motorcycles, search for nearby workshops, reliable warehouses, trusted car washes, compare options and schedule appointments in just a few steps. At the same time, it offers workshops a tool to increase their visibility and attract new customers, creating a beneficial ecosystem for both parties. The initial results obtained with the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) are promising. During the first two months of operation, 500 users and 20 associated workshops were registered, with 25 services requested. This was thanks to a strong marketing campaign that revealed the potential of social networks in the mission of bringing Pitstop to the interest of many bikers. These data indicate positive market acceptance and validate the platform's value proposition, laying the foundation for future scaling. In conclusion, PitStop is positioned as an innovative solution that responds to the needs of an underserved market segment, with a scalable business model and a clear focus on service quality. The lessons learned during the implementation of the MVP will allow the platform to be optimized and its reach expanded, contributing to the digital transformation of the motorcycle services sector in Bogotá.
