Resumen
In the Colombian context, automation is an element that has been coming for some time. transformed the industry, new approaches and technologies allow the business sector implement solutions that cover the demand produced by a country that is on the path to development. Universities have the duty to guide and anticipate their programs in favor of provide solutions to the challenges faced by the Colombian industry by appropriating emerging technologies, which is why academic content must be enriched with teams that bring the student and the teacher closer to forming theoretical and practical skills. SEDAI is a project carried out in order to close gaps in practical skills in automation industrial present in current technical education. Make a connection between the theoretical part and Practice is fundamental in the academic training of the student and in the deepening of the teacher towards new knowledge and ways of learning. Modern industry, driven by demand and Industry 4.0, requires capable professionals, to manage and optimize automated systems through programming and integration technological. However, many educational institutions have not adapted their curricula to include strong practices in automation, programming, and emerging technologies, resulting in a gap between the skills with which students graduate and those demanded by the sector industrial. Teaching, especially in engineering, needs didactic experiences that link theory with practice, fostering critical skills such as logical reasoning and the scientific method. However, the lack of specialized tools, simulations and equipment limits the development of automation skills. In order to provide a comprehensive solution, a prototype level control plant is developed. and temperature, incorporating a module that acts as middleware between the plant and the data sent to the SCADA system implemented in Node-RED. The project ranges from design to the complete construction, including sensors, actuators and other components that will make up the training system. The main objective of the assembly is to facilitate students and teachers clearly identify the parts of the system, thus optimizing the development of the practices for which the plant has been designed. SEDAI will have guides focused on pedagogy, serving as support material for the correct manipulation and care of the system. Finally, a functional prototype is obtained in which different types of control can be applied. to the temperature and level variables, achieving real-time communication through the MQTT and Modbus communication protocol which allows you to monitor the entire system status during its operation. With the guides and workshops the complete processes and operation are explained of each component, explaining practices increasing the level of degree of complexity in each activity. Among the deliverables are PLC and ESP32 codes used in the guides that will function as a basis for the exercises that are proposed to be deepened. The SEDAI project offers a practical solution to reduce the industrial automation skills gap in Colombia, through a functional prototype of a control plant with Industry 4.0 technologies
