Resumen
This thesis is part of the research subfield "Pedagogical Processes, Culture, and Society" and aims to analyze the invisible representations of machismo in the family dynamics of four women in Bogotá. Using a comparative method with a holistic approach, the paper seeks to identify normalized practices, attitudes, and discourses that reproduce gender inequality within the home, even when they are not explicitly recognized as sexist. This interest stems from the recognition that, although many women currently actively participate as breadwinners, naturalized forms of machismo persist that disproportionately assign them caregiving and domestic duties. These situations, when they go unnoticed or are assumed to be "normal," can significantly limit women's personal, professional, and emotional development, also affecting their mental health. The study was conducted with four participants between the ages of 34 and 43, all mothers and residents of Bogotá, to explore how these forms of invisible machismo manifest in their family environments. Through interviews and an experiential workshop, the study seeks to understand whether there are common elements that allow for the identification of deep-rooted cultural patterns, and whether there are significant differences related to factors such as age, educational background, or family role. By making these dynamics visible, the work aims to contribute to reflection on gender equity in the domestic sphere, promote questioning of traditional practices, and pave the way for transformations that favor more equitable and healthy relationships. It also promotes new parenting patterns to reduce these types of practices in future generations.
