Resumen
According to the geographical conditions of Colombia, it is very favorable to take advantage of non-conventional sources of renewable energy, especially when we can focus its use in the promotion and development of disadvantaged communities in the national territory, Therefore, this document seeks to present the process we implemented to determine the energy generation potential on the surface of the Buenos Aires educational institution, located in the municipality of Soacha, Cundinamarca, where it is possible to take advantage of the energy that can be generated to reduce and/or supply the energy consumption of the site and thus improve its operating conditions and infrastructure.
Two possible energy solution scenarios will be compared, diagramming two types of photovoltaic solar energy systems, where their advantages and disadvantages will be evidenced from the perspectives of energy use and the financial cost required by each of the solutions.
According to the results of the comparative of the two energy solutions, the Building Trust Americas (BTA) Foundation will evaluate the financial feasibility to implement the installation of the project, and with this finally present to the Educational Institution the dimensioning of the photovoltaic solar energy system, including the type and quantity of components to be used in the system, promoting academic interest in this type of technology by the students at the school
