Resumen
The guitar quartet, consisting of four instruments with the same tuning and register, stands out for its homogeneous timbre and its ability to allow each performer to assume various functions without being limited to a specific register. Unlike other quartets, such as string or wind quartets, the guitar quartet offers a polyphony that facilitates the execution of melodies, accompaniments, and complex textures.
This musical format has demonstrated remarkable versatility in adapting to different types of repertoire, especially in contemporary music. For this reason, this work focuses on developing a compositional work that reflects the different aspects of musical creation in a guitar quartet, taking advantage of the unique characteristics of this ensemble.
