Resumen
Permanent plots are considered as one of the most effective strategies for monitoring biodiversity, so there are different networks of permanent plots worldwide, within which is the Amazon Forest Inventory Network (RAINFOR). The present study consisted of the sampling of vegetation and the remedy of individuals with DAP ≥ 10 cm of four permanent plots established in two tropical dry forests of the Colombian Caribbean, in the Natural Regional Park “Los Besotes“(Valledupar, Cesar) and the Natural Regional Park “Bosque Seco El Ceibal Mono Tití” (Santa Catalina, Bolívar), belonging to the Colombian Forest Monitoring Network, associated with RAINFOR. The process consisted in the remedy of individuals and the collection of botanical samples for taxonomic identification in the UDBC Forest Herbarium. Additionally, the composition and structure of the vegetation of the four plots was evaluated and compared. It was concluded that there are significant differences at the level of composition and structure between plots and between study sites, as well as the importance of the species Brosimum alicastrum and Hura crepitans in the dry forests of the Colombian Caribbean.
