Resumen
The teaching of science should not be limited to regular classrooms, but should be expanded to all those spaces where educational processes are carried out, as is the case of the hospital classroom of the Juan N Corpas Clinic, where during the year 2022 an intervention was carried out with the support of pedagogical and didactic models appropriate to the context of formative processes in the human dimension of children and young people confined in hospital institutions and to teaching and learning processes of natural sciences, with the objective of developing strategies that favor a positive approach to science, to the understanding of health conditions and to the explanation of diseases from the perspective of scientific knowledge, especially chemistry, all this, accompanied by resources such as didactic material and the use of different information and communication technologies (ICT) appropriate to the capabilities of each of the student patients. Thanks to the pedagogical accompaniment and the use of the problem-based learning (PBL) strategy, the scientific topics were able to have a greater degree of contextualization for the student patients, and with this, each of them was able to enhance their scientific understanding with a focus on the corpuscular nature of matter and the use of scientific language towards everyday and health phenomena, in addition to strengthening the physical-creative and socio-affective skills required in the teaching processes involving hospital pedagogy, this is reflected in the sessions with the creation of hypotheses and possible solutions given by each student patient for each given problem.
