Resumen
The studies that contemplate the biotic and ecological characteristics in the structural behavior of the vegetation, an analysis of the ecological index analysis that shows the occurrence of plant organisms on an area and its ecological importance within an ecosystem. The most appropriate ecological index, the Importance Value Index (IVI), which results from the evaluation of the abundance, frequency and relative dominance of the species that make up a forest. Although there is a spatial approach given by the incidence of the surface, this scope of a view that adjusts to the financial and simultaneous variety that allows to make decisions about the distribution patterns of the species to the availability of resources, competition and / or climaedafozonal conditions that optimize the biological development of certain individuals In response to the previous aspect, QIVI is positioned as a spatial analysis tool for Quantum GIS (QGIS) that allows the geospatial visualization and the automation of the calculation of the ecological index through a intuitive graphical user interface. This type of application solves the scant interpretation given by tables and histograms that was not achieved in a real visualization of possible patterns of ecological behavior on different environments.
