Resumen
The design criteria of pavement structures generally do not contemplate the life cycle analysis (LCA), for this reason the purpose of this work is to carry out a comparative analysis between the rigid and flexible pavement design alternatives from a technical point of view, economic and environmental. For this, a local road corridor of the Kennedy Locality is evaluated, considering for this the proposal of six design alternatives between rigid and flexible structure, using the AASHTO 93, INVIAS and IDU design methodologies; Subsequently, a first comparative analysis of the conventional pavement design is carried out for the selection of a single proposal for a rigid pavement and another for a flexible pavement that meets the requirements required by the corridor under study. These selected design alternatives are modeled in Athena Pavement LCA software which provides Life Cycle Analysis Assessment (LCA) and Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) results for production, construction and maintenance activities and rehabilitation of materials during the determined life cycle period of the segment under study.
