Resumen
Context: There are different ways in an institution can be organized, in such a way that all areas operate synergistically, facilitating internal processes; However, in organizations that produce knowledge, they need to be structured under a configuration that enhances the production of knowledge, facilitates the opening of knowledge to the local context and privileges innovation. Method: the objective of this article is propose an organizational structure for a knowledge producing organization based on the analysis of the forces of this, with a MACKENZIE analysis, a PESTEL analysis and a series of interviews with the personnel involved areas, this in order to configure the optimal organizational structure for a knowledge producing organization. Results: The validation of the structure, was carried out through a case study in institution was characterized, adjusted disparities and the structure was adapted to favor research and innovation. Conclusions: it can be concluded that knowledge producing organizations as in the case of technological development institutes, must configure their structure taking into account the innovation cycles, the conditions for promoting research, the opening of academic borders and the distance of administration or operation processes of the institution, due to the fact that they substantially affect academic production, innovation and versatility in technological production.
