Resumen
This is a didactic proposal that highlights the importance of integrating socio-emotional and civic skills into Biology Education for the development of critical citizens, especially in a context where the promotion of mental health and the prevention of depression are relevant issues in Colombia. The main objective is to design a didactic proposal that addresses these topics comprehensively, focusing on the human body systems related to mental health, specifically adolescent depression. Through design-based research (DBR) and the design of the didactic proposal, students' conceptions of the relationship between human body systems, socio-emotional and civic education, and mental health care were identified. Mental health training initiatives and socio-emotional skills in the national educational context were characterized to promote the formation of critical citizens and how they can be integrated with Biology Education. Finally, a didactic proposal was designed that integrates socio-emotional and civic education for mental health care and the formation of critical citizens through a MOOC course divided into four modules. This research is part of the research project: Biology Education and Citizenship Building, a Latin American perspective.
