Resumen
We know that throughout history man since his first civilizations has sought to mobilize and transport their food resources or raw materials over long distances. That is why the invention of the wheel arises, that with the different designs have managed to satisfy that need, until the commerce increased and with the boom of the industrial revolution, the merchandise began to increase its demand, arising problems to the means of transport, since the wooden wheels deteriorate and did not support the high efforts produced by the products. With this in the late eighteenth century the wheel revolutionized to be steel and imposed on rails thus developing the trains, however, in 1839 Charles Good Year develops the process of vulcanizing rubber which produces the invention of the tires and therefore cars, tracts mules, trucks, among others.
With the invention of the developed tires, it generated new transports and despite the fact that it was possible to satisfy the need of mobility to the human being, the big companies producing this did not realize that in the future it would bring environmental consequences as postulated by the Basel Convention and different media. Although each country has developed different legislation to control the problem as in Colombia that issued resolution 1457 of July 29, 2010, these only talk about the handling and collection of the rejected tire and not what to do next with these. With it arise different companies such as Hulex, Gicomer, Corpaul, Gercons, among others at the Colombian level; that uses the GCR (recycled rubber grain) to elaborate flats, parks, courts among others, but with these products they do not satisfy the problem and although different areas of engineering such as civil and chemical mechanics worldwide have tried to mix ceramics with GCR have not been successful in their investigations.
According to the above, it can be affirmed that tires are discarded when they have already reached their useful life and have become a problem that affects the environment, since their decomposition process takes many years. This is how the research group of the District University - technological faculty of mechanical technology, focuses its attention on this problem. For this purpose, recycled rubber (GCR) and polyurethane grain will be used, reaching a composite polymer matrix material. Reason for the present monograph where it is intended to submit said material to tests to know the properties under the norm NTC 595 of tension and NTC 943 of impact. Taking into account that the material proposed arises from an empirical research previously carried out by the research group and that according to the results obtained are reflected in this monograph. We hope that future research will be taken into account as a basis for future findings or tests; the research group hopes with this investigation to be part of the solution to the environmental problem that the tires generate in the medium and look for other possible uses in the environment without harming.
