Resumen
The present project consists of the execution of the methodology of coast line analysis in the sector of Cascajal Island (Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca) based on georeferenced old aerial images. Throughout the document the reader will find a brief description of the geographical and administrative context of the study area, as well as the methodology developed through six (6) phases, which start from the application process of the quadrangles to the Geographical Institute " Agustín Codazzi "(IGAC) and go to the calculation of statistics of change that are obtained through the extension DSAS (Digital Shoreline Analysis System) used on ArcMap software version 10.5. It is important to highlight that the temporality covered by this analysis is forty (40) years, and that eight (8) time evaluations were generated with a frequency between 3 and 13 years. These cuts correspond to images of the years: 1965, 1968, 1976, 1979, 1985, 1989, 1992 and 2005. This range of temporality allows not only to characterize the behavior of the coastline, but also exposes the dynamics of anthropic intervention in your enviroment. This work emerged as support for the project "Zonificación fisiográfica del Litoral Pacífico Colombiano" of the SUBDEMAR of the Dirección General Marítima (DIMAR) and aims to evaluate a methodology that has been developed on multiple occasions in the Caribbean coast , but that to date did not have the same application in the Colombian Pacific.
