Resumen
The main objective of this work is the design and implementation of new software applications for the capture of production records, developed to the measure of Colmena SAS. These types of applications are characterized by having a high degree of reliability and certainty when making production records in real time. At present, many companies in the metallurgical sector are opting for the implementation of this type of tools that reduce costs and generate added value. One of the weaknesses of implementing an online information capture project is the difficulty of programming the software for each of the work centers, because each one of them fulfills its own unique characteristics that make each one will perform a different procedure, increasing the degree of complexity for its implementation. This implementation could be complicated due to factors that are not taken into account in the collection of information to carry out the programming, these unforeseen events would lead to reprocessing according to the level of complexity. The final work is aimed at implementing a data capture system in each work center and thus solve the failures that the company Colmena SAS presents in the daily capture of information and that ostensibly affects the supply chain in inventory processes , production deliveries and stop times. This project will apply technologies that are in the market, where automatic identification and data capture systems are used, such as: Barcode identification, wireless network (Wi-Fi), mobile terminals, tablets, readers, printers, etc. All this technology combined with an application that is capable of collecting, storing and sending data to the ERP, will improve and optimize processes in real time: • Control the inventories that go through the production stream in real time, know the production status by machine and the process in which each one is. • Being able to visualize the real time the stops caused in the work centers and identify the causes of lost productivity and costs. • Carry out the monitoring and control of the different indicators that are held in each machine, in order to determine compliance.
Colmena SAS belongs to the type of company in the metallurgical sector with 59 years in the market, it has all the characteristics to make it possible for a project like the one proposed to have application: • Low level of automation in each work center. • Large number of records made manually. • Large volumes of production and inventories that are not easy to control. • Complex production programming model due to its different manufacturing possibilities.
