Resumen
Considering the research of any alternative solution that doesn't affect the environment and at the same time control the reproduction of the Aedes aegypti mosquito having on mind the responsibility on the transmission of diseases that attack big part of the population from all around the world as it is the dengue, yellow fever, and chikungunya fever, we developed under laboratory conditions this project evaluating the larvicidal effect of the Syzygium aromaticum (clove) as a biological control over the larvae of the IV vector stage of aedes aegypti. In the present investigation was performed bioassays with live larvae subjected to six treatments with serial concentrations from 100 ppm to 600 ppm of extract of Syzygium aromaticum (clove) with four different repetitions and a control group for each treatment. In each bioassay with the different concentrations They were used 25 larvae fourth stage per repiclate, making observations to assess their toxic effect starting from 0 hours increased to 2.12, 24, 36 and 48 hours. The results show a satisfactory efficiency of mortality in the treatments , considering that at the end of the same there reaches a cumulative mortality of 100% within 48 hours of exposure to the extract with a concentration of 400 ppm which it is really low compared to other studies made . It is concluded that the extract of Syzygium aromaticum when is used as a larvicide is very efficient ; whereby there is the likelihood that being studied in field show positive results , achieving to control mosquito breeding Aedes aegypti reducing cases of people infected with the dengue virus and chikungunya.
