Intercomparación de las dosis obtenidas con el sistema Fricke y en el Laboratorio Secundario de Calibración Dosimétrica

Resumen
Fricke dosimetry is a technique with multiple applications, from the food industry to medicine. In the daily activities of the gamma irradiation plant of the Servicio Geológico Colombiano (SGC), different dosimetric systems are used to study the absorbed doses in materials, among them the Fricke dosimetric system. In this work, a comparison was performed between the doses obtained by the routinely used Fricke system with the absorbed dose determined in the Secondary Dosimetric Calibration Laboratory (LSCD) from traceable standards calibrated at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the application of the IAEA TRS 398 protocol in the G100 Hopewell Design irradiator containing a Co60 source. The protocols established in ISO-ASTM 51026 “Standard practice for the use of the Fricke dosimetry system” were applied. The calibration curve of the Fricke dosimeters was elaborated, from which the experimental parameter was obtained for the calculation of the absorbed dose in the environmental conditions of the facility; the system showed a linear behavior in the range of 100 Gy to 350 Gy. Considering the experimental dose value obtained with this system, an intercomparison was made with the known dose determined in the LSCD, obtaining a difference in the mentioned dose range of no more than 3.7% and an uncertainty of 3% and a reliability of 95%
