Uitoto of 6 to 11 kilometers road Leticia - Tarapaca, where communities that shape and organization, face problems of systematization and management of the information generated, limiting factors enhance the experience in managing the Reserve Ticuna Indian occurs the territory. The focus of this thesis was the study of conceptual and methodological elements, aimed at identifying minimum requirements for the conceptualization of a Participatory Geographic Information System from the current conditions of shelter. The area is located in the rural area of Leticia, Amazonas Department, Colombia (4 ° 05 '50' 'south latitude, 69 ° 56' 12 '' west longitude) under the jurisdiction of the Indigenous Zonal Association Council Authorities Tradition Indigenous AZCAITA, with an area of 7540.5 hectares. legitimized by resolution No. 005 of January 29, 1986 the Colombian Institute of Agrarian Reform INCORA. Methodologically a description of the study area was done through the development of a local diagnosis and recognition processes and potential users, hence, along with analysis and harmonization of methodologies Geographic Information System (GIS), the process Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and participatory development tools, a methodology for the development of a GIS which involves the participation of indigenous communities design, thereby allowing for the basic requirements for implementing the system. With the development of the methodology designed for work, a characterization of the current image of the reservation in the physical-environmental, socio-economic and cultural administrative, description which in turn became the basis of the methodology was obtained for the development of Participatory GIS and requirements to consider for design and development.
