Abstract

To think carefully about the role that the university has represented for centuries: to train new generations of the existing cultural accumulated, we assume that the university as a research, requires incorporation of conceptual distinctions necessary. What status for college? How to organize a discussion to understand their nature? Questions how are you remind us of the importance that requires paying attention to a subject of research we imagine consists of two poles: the institution and its operation, the first and the second, training and its complexities. Object of research that deserves attention in its entirety, because their understanding has been overshadowed, distracted and even monopolized in recent decades towards one pole, given the emphasis placed on the functioning of the institution and its settings, seeking greater efficiency instrumental and economic terms. Within this framework of concerns and seeking to focus the discussion around the particular nature, that is, the meaning and function of a particular university, the purpose of this paper is to present an analytical outline that facilitates the discussion of some of the Statutes they have helped guide the operation of the University Francisco José de Caldas, specifically those related to the years of its founding.
