Resumen
In the monography presented below is exposed the development of there search study in the Gimnasio Pascal entitled "Strategies to improve reading comprehension in tenth grade students of the Gimnasio PASCAL". The work is aimed to solve the difficulties that were found in the classroom in relation to the reading comprehension process, using as a basis the metacognition which allows anapproach to students and their ways of learning. In developing of this document you will find the students' contextualization, the problems encountered in that particular context related to the reading comprehension processes, the problem question and objectives that direct the course of the research, a theoretical frame work that underlying the development of a methodology based on metacognition to improve reading comprehension of the students, and finally the strategies worked and analysis that provides a solution for teaching reading comprehension.
