Apoyo a las actividades en el marco del proyecto de determinación de mercurio en tejido de pescado y en muestras ambientales, en la dirección de laboratorio e innovación ambiental - DLIA Corporación Autónoma Regional de Cundinamarca
MORALES ARENAS, JULIAN DAVID; RAMOS RINCÓN, JAIDITH MARISOL
The Regional Autonomous Corporation of Cundinamarca plays a fundamental role in the care, preservation, and monitoring of stakeholders involved in activities that interact with the environment. Through research and development projects, it has been possible to evaluate parameters that are not considered in conventional methods. The research project “Determination of Mercury in Fish from the Bogotá River and Magdalena River Basins” constitutes the foundation of this work. The determination of mercury in fish is a key environmental indicator in the characterization of a region where industries of different types (mining, tanning, among others) are present. Given the bioaccumulation exhibited by this metal, it is possible to study its presence through various matrices such as sediments, water, and living organisms. Throughout this document, a contribution is presented to the development of an analytical methodology that enables rapid, reliable, and repeatable analysis of mercury in fish, in accordance with international regulations. Through various methodological trials, including acid–alkaline digestions and direct readings, direct analysis of fish tissue without prior chemical treatment was selected, requiring only homogenization of the tissue by manual grinding. Based on this approach, a statistical treatment was performed to confirm the repeatability of the method and to initiate a process for formalizing the analytical methodology to be used, taking as its basis the direct reading of homogenized fish tissue. In light of the studies, trials, and tests conducted, the use of the developed and validated analytical method is proposed for the continuation of the macroproject to which this work belongs, up to the date covered by this report.

Evaluación de robustez y correlación entre análisis del método de determinación textural de suelos en Agrilab
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Beltrán Bautista, Santiago; Monge Romero, Inti Camilo
This document presents a study aimed at validating the Bouyoucos method for soil texture determination, highlighting its importance in the physical and chemical characterization of soil material. Through a multifactorial Youden experimental design and statistical analysis using ANOVA and PCA, the robustness and correlations between the sand, silt, and clay fractions were evaluated alongside physicochemical parameters such as pH, electrical conductivity, oxidizable organic carbon, and saturation pastes. The results showed that the method is reliable and stable under experimental variations, with significant associations between texture and soil fertility, particularly in clayey and fertilized soils. Overall, the study establishes the Bouyoucos technique as a valid tool for routine analysis and comprehensive interpretation of soil quality, strengthening analytical and quality control processes in specialized laboratories.
