Identificación de áreas prioritarias para el desarrollo de iniciativas de I+D+i, en el marco del CONPES D.C. 35 - Economía Circular.
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Colmenares, Jeisson Alexander; Romero-Betancur, David; Romero Betancur, David [0000-0003-1330-6116]
This document sets out the priority areas for the development of research (basic and applied) and technological development initiatives focused on sustainable production and consumption, aimed at addressing the challenges of the District and bringing together the different stakeholders within the framework of CONPES D.C. 35 – Circular Economy. The PDEC seeks to transform the linear production and consumption model into a circular one, prioritising resource optimisation, waste reduction and ecosystem regeneration. The prioritisation process was carried out in two phases: the first through a consultation instrument addressed to various stakeholders (researchers, business representatives and decision-makers), and the second through the analysis of the information collected. The specific objectives of the PDEC were assessed, and research areas were proposed for each of them, taking into account both institutional priorities and the interests expressed by the community. The results reveal a strong interest in topics related to civic culture and behaviour change, circular business models, efficient management of the material life cycle (including biotechnology and the popular recycling economy), and the strengthening of governance and knowledge management. Research focuses on areas such as education for circularity, waste valorisation technologies, industrial symbiosis, eco-design, reverse logistics and regional partnerships. This exercise provides a roadmap to guide investment in science, technology and innovation in Bogotá, aligning academic and productive efforts with the challenges and opportunities of the transition towards a circular economy. This prioritisation is expected to contribute to sustainable development and to an improved quality of life for citizens.

Agenda viva de investigaciones – Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Focos de Investigación (2025)
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Oficina de Investigaciones, ODI; David Romero Betancur, David Romero Betancur; Nelson Enrique Vera Parra, Nelson Enrique Vera Parra; Nelson Enrque
The research agenda corresponds to the thematic focuses and challenges established at the institutional level, which allow for the channeling and prioritization of efforts at both the institutional level and within academic units and research structures. These focuses will provide a clear overview of the University's research interests. In turn, they will serve as a reference for defining research lines by faculty and at the research group level. Together, the research agenda and lines, at the faculty level (or equivalent academic units) and at the research group level, constitute the institution's research identity.

Memorias Jornadas de Co-Creación de la Agenda Viva de Investigación - 2025. Actualización de los Focos de Investigación de la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Romero-Betancur, David; Romero Betancur, David [0000-0003-1330-6116]; Vera Parra, Nelson Enrque
This document presents the results of co-creation workshops conducted by faculty, designed to update and enrich the current research agenda of the Francisco José de Caldas District University. The main objective was to conduct a systematic and participatory review of existing and proposed strategic research focuses by the faculties, as well as those identified through scientometric analysis conducted by the Research Office. These workshops, held between August 11 and 22, 2025, in each of the faculties, involved members of the research committees and research group leaders. The process combined the validation of current and proposed focuses using a structured instrument, as well as the registration of new focuses suggested by participants, and a thorough weighing and review of all the collected data. The results are detailed in this document, including a full description of each focus, a compilation of the comments received for each, and a list of additional proposed focuses. The information from these sessions was widely disseminated through the university's official channels. The results presented seek to lay the groundwork for the path forward to consolidate this living agenda as a dynamic resource, adaptable to the changing needs of the scientific and technological landscape and the university's research system. This effort seeks to ensure that the strategic direction of research at the institution reflects current and future priorities, driving innovation and excellence in all areas of knowledge.

This report presents the results of the analysis of the academic production of the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas during the 2015–2025 period, with the aim of identifying trends, capacities, and strategic areas for research development. The study is based on the integration of data from the ScienTI-Colombia platform and international databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and OpenAlex. Through analytical visualizations, the distribution of research outputs by typology, the temporal evolution of production, and the main topics addressed by researchers are examined using co-occurrence network analysis of key terms. The findings highlight an institutional trajectory characterized by the strengthening of knowledge generation, the social appropriation of research outcomes, and the articulation among the university’s core functions. Additionally, potential knowledge fields are identified, derived from the consolidation and updating of thematic focuses, as well as emerging areas, which may inform the revision of the Agenda Viva de Investigaciones and support institutional decision-making in research promotion and policy.

Universidad Distrital en Rankings Universitarios - 2024
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Romero-Betancur, David; Romero Betancur, David [0000-0003-1330-6116]; David
University rankings are tools that assess the quality of higher education institutions using various criteria, addressing different interests depending on the entity or organization responsible for the assessment. Generally, these rankings focus on aspects such as reputation, employability, educational quality, internationalization, transparency, resource management, scientific production, research networks, research funding, innovation, and collaboration. The measurement of university performance is based on different national and international benchmarks, utilizing information from records and databases, as well as data provided by institutions or specific surveys. This document lists several international rankings, including QS, Times Higher Education, ARWU, Webometrics, SCImago-Institutions Rankings, and U-Sapience. The specific characteristics of each are discussed, along with the implications of their results. Finally, the importance of the university's visibility is highlighted, along with the standardization of records in databases and within the university, and the use of persistent identifiers as essential strategies for improvement. Standardization involves unifying the university's denomination and the names of researchers in academic indexing databases, increasing visibility, citations to research, and correcting sub-entries in national and international databases.
