Ítem El lugar del fin de las historias: los mecanismos funcionales del suicidio en una sociedad que administra la vidaPalacios Rivera, Joan Sebastian; Torres Plata, Miguel JoséThe purpose of this research was to find out how the functional mechanism of suicidal actions would be in a society that administers life under a neoliberal regime. It began analyzing the political and social situations that arose around, insitu and after realization, of the suicidal actions of Andrés Hincapie and Sergio Urrego. To this end, a historiography was made on how an idea about suicide has been built and developed culturally, from classical thought to modern thought, a time when there was an intellectual interest in understanding suicide through a series of theories developed from the perspectives of nascent social sciences, psychology, psychoanalysis, sociology, and medicine, and a very particular, for its high degree of humanity, a literary perspective. All these postulates, in the end, even when they fail to fully understand suicide, develop their theories in places common to all, which recognize in suicidal actions two of its elements that are inherent, violence and freedom. Which, as concepts, manage to problematize the suicidal actions within the dynamics of current power that are exercised in a society that administers life under a neoliberal regime, whose raw material, overexploited and inexhaustible, is the psyche, and its constant desire for achieve that feeling of wanting to be free.
