Ítem Propuesta de mejora del plan de gestión integral de residuos hospitalarios y similares de Colmedicos S.A.S.Forero Bejarano, Oscar Alberto; Hernández Mejía, Pablo Andrés; Pedraza Poveda, GustavoCurrently the generation of hospital and similar waste has become an aspect of great importance for the Health sector because to the environmental impacts that are generated as a result of ignorance of the proper way to dispose of these waste once these have completed their work. Colmedicos S.A.S, aware of this problem, has sought the tools and methodologies to meet all the requirements determined by law. One of those requirements is the formulation and implementation of the Comprehensive Management Plan for Hospital and Similar Waste, which is contemplated in Article 6 of Decree 351 of 2014, within the obligations of the generator. This environmental management plan is a compendium that indicates in an organized and coherent way the necessary activities to guarantee the Comprehensive management of waste generated in health care and other activities. It´s necessary to clarify that although Colmedicos S.A.S currently has a Comprehensive Management Plan for Hospital and Similar Waste implemented, it has evidenced there are certain procedures that need to be updated, taking into account that the legislation is constantly renewed and additionally the internal processes are subject to modifications. Also, it should be noted that Colmedicos S.A.S being a company in the health sector, audits are continuously received by external entities such as public organizations and customers. Taking into account the above, this improvement proposal in the Comprehensive Management Plan for Hospital and Similar Waste seeks initially to make a diagnosis of the environmental situation of the company in relation to the internal and external management of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste; that allows formulating a Comprehensive Management Plan for Hospital and Similar Waste that adapts better to the institutional processes and to all the requirements of the current environmental legislation. Finally, it is important to mention that for a comprehensive management of the Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste of any company, is necessary to count and maintained a strong organization culture which allows the company's employees to take ownership of this environmental situation from each job. According with the last, this improvement proposal seeks to focus on the development of awareness activities in the administrative and assistance staff.
