Ítem Efecto de la Oferta de Recurso en la Distribución y Densidad del Venado Cola Blanca en Tres Zonas del Ecotono del Bosque Altoandino y PáramoGómez Castellanos, Yeimi Yohana; Zerda Ordoñez, EnriquePopulations are subject to changes in their distribution and abundance due to the availability and supply of resources. Therefore, the density and permanence of mammals in certain sites may be the product of habitat physical and biotic variables. To study the differences in density and distribution of Odocoileus virginianus according to the distribution, structure of Hesperomeles heterophylla and Baccharis nitida, visibility and distance to the water source, in three zones of the ecotone from Altoandino forest and paramo of the National Park Natural Chingaza. The relative density of the white tail deer colony was evaluated and in plots of 400m2 in 0.8 hectares. The density and spatial distribution were determined by age categories of plant species and the percentage of visibility and distance to the nearest water source was found. The result shows a higher population density in Monterredondo with 8.9 deer / km2. Spatial distribution rates indicate an aggregate pattern for species. Three distinct and well differentiated categories were identified, with the most abundant being the Juvenile 2 individuals of B. nitida. Finally, it was identified that the distance between the water sources affects the distribution and the permanence of O.virginianus.
