Ítem En la batalla contra el Mastocitoma canino (Cáncer de Piel)Ramírez Sandoval, María Paula; Pinto Mantilla, Lucía; Romero Sandoval, Carolina RomeroCanine mastocytoma (MCT) is a round cell neoplasm, colloquially known as skin cancer. It is one of the most common skin diseases in dogs (Canis lupus familiaris) which has had a higher incidence in recent times. Probably due to the fact that veterinary advancement and home care have helped the life expectancy of these companion animals to be longer. Despite being one of the most common malignancies in dogs, its behavior is unpredictable. Therefore, a completely curative treatment is still unknown, as expected in such a complex process ascancer. This monograph reviews the current status of aspects such as biology, incidence, possible etiology, clinical signs, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of canine mastocytoma, reported between 2010 and this year. Finding a variety of currently available treatments, along with those that need more study, exposing the need to implement these treatments in the face of the unstable response of MCTs. The need to expand the studies against the response against mastocytoma as a need for care and the guarantee of a good quality of life for the dog during its illness are evident.
