Ítem El teatro como medio de aprendizaje significativo en la institución educativa Isaías Gamboa de la comuna I de Cali-Valle del CaucaMedina Ortiz, Paula Alejandra; Mecon Grijalba, Daniel Alejandro; Gallego Hernández, Dubian DaríoFrom a discomfort that appeared during the last semesters of study as scenic artists, where we began to question ourselves about the profession and its social function, we understood that not only the stage is the place for actors, but there is also a space for the actor in places where the community requests art as a vehicle for the transformation of their being; For this reason we proposed the realization of a project of workshops and theatrical productions with a youth group of children and adolescents of a school in the commune 1 of Cali-Colombia, we wanted to recognize how art and in particular the performing arts affect the learning and behavior of students who develop in an environment labeled as "socially conflictive". The activities and exercises to be developed during the workshops were based on some of the theoretical postulates of Michael Chekhov, Cicely Berry, Augusto Boal and Eugenio Barba; taking as principles the diversity, tolerance towards difference and social and historical conscience, all of this framed from a gender and social determinants approach. Two theatrical productions were produced that had an impact beyond the institutional space, as they participated in and won regional competitions. Beyond this, the experience allowed us to understand how art can work as a tool for discovery and self-recognition, how it generates spaces for debate and discussion and how it can contribute to significant learning. It also presented us with the need to rethink paradigms around educational methods and reconsider what is essential in the integral formation of our children and adolescents.
