Los carrangos

Abstract

This report is the product of a research-creation degree project, carried out over the course of a year and a half. This report gives an account of the experience that the authors Guillermo and Miguel had as researchers and creators of a dance movement piece that explores the concept of the "carranguero body". For this process a creation laboratory was carried out with the collective Movedizo Danza, which lasted fourteen weeks, beginning on July twenty-seventh, two thousand twenty-two and ending on December tenth of the same year, with the materialization of a scenic piece, which took place on December 9th and 10th. For the development of this laboratory, the research was carried out through four interviews, which took place in different formats from the virtual and face-to-face, the execution of two practical workshops that were shaping the "carranguero body" and its different qualities, which is the main concept of the scenic product that was presented. The theme of this research is therefore the "carranguero body". In this degree work, the dance language is investigated (which arises from the mixture of elements of the carranguero dance with the language of contemporary dance), which is constituted as the guiding axis of this research for the creation and production of a scenic dance.
