Prevalencia de cáncer de piel y su relación con factores socio demográficos y ocupacionales de pacientes que asisten a consulta en Dermainnova S.A.S.

Abstract

Objetive: To determine the relationship between the sociodemographic and occupational characteristics present in patients with skin cancer treated in Dermainnova S.A.S in the period of time of the months of february-june of the year 2017; methodological aspects: A descriptive cross-sectional study will be carried out with the patients attending dermatology consultation at Dermainnova S.A.S. during the period from february 2017 to june 2017, where a clinical and histological diagnosis of cutaneous cancer was found in relation to occupational factors; results: A total of 41 patients were studied. The average age was 62 years, 56.10% of the cases were women 42% of the patients were classified as phototype III followed by phototype I and II each with 29%. The photo-exposed work activity predominated in a 68.29% (Builder, farmer, merchant-ambulant, mechanic, driver, police, livestock, etc.). The location of the lesion for skin cancer was found more frequently on face with 73,17%, time of evolution for a lesion type skin cancer was between 1 and 2 years 41,46%. Within the risk factors 46% smoked, 56% presented sunburns in their life, 59% performed outdoor activities and 42% I never use photoprotection measures; at a level of significance of 0.05, there is evidence that the relationship between the phototype and the diagnosis of skin cancer is significant (p = 0.0270); conclusions: the study reaffirms the importance of ultraviolet radiation in the study of skin cancer. Unlike that reported in the American literature, this study found an important percentage of patients with phototype III, it was found that exposed areas are more vulnerable to suffer skin cancer this study serve to guide the doctor and the population in the preventive and follow-up measures that must be adopted.
