Resumen
Professor Luz Marilín Ortiz Sánchez is assuming the directorship of the District University's Institute of Languages (ILUD), acknowledging both the challenge and the importance of the position. Her main objective is to enrich the standing the Institute has already gained by injecting contemporary academic and pedagogical dynamics.
Professor Ortiz, who holds a background in Language and Culture, seeks to transform language teaching beyond linguistic structures. She will focus on the formation of individuals with critical, analytical, and political thinking who understand the learning of a new language as a process of cultural, social, political, and cognitive growth.
The new director, who defines herself more as an academic than an administrator, faces the fundamental challenges of generating networked research lines from the Institute, working with respect and feedback alongside the valuable team of professionals at ILUD, and ensuring that academia remains the driving force of her management. This appointment, a result of her solid academic trajectory (including a specialization in Human Development and an upcoming master's degree), seeks to position ILUD not only as a teaching center but as an academic institute that handles more complex elements in comprehensive education
