Resumen
The work focuses on observing the effects of a modifying agent (EDTA) on the MOF-5 and MOF-199, which are characterized by their ultra porosity and the presence of unsaturated metals. The synthesis of this type of solids was mechanochemical, taking place at environmental conditions, avoiding the reduction of the surface area due to a little controlled increase in temperature and pressure. For MOF-199, the Langmuir surface area was 1696 m2 / g, when adding EDTA the surface area was reduced by about 50%, being 810 m2 / g. Additionally, this reduction was observed in the CO2 adsorbent capacity, going from 201 to 72 cc / g, as the pores were narrower after the modification. The adsorbent capacity of the material was altered by adding EDTA due to the conditions at the time of optimization, that is, changes in temperature and pressure would allow satisfactory results. On the other hand, for the MOF-5 two materials were synthesized at different temperatures at 25ºC and 60ºC, whose surface areas BET were 18 and 5 m2 / g. At the time of impregnation, the material was modified by pH action by NaOH that allowed EDTA to be dissolved. The adsorbent capacity could not be determined, since, the results were not viable for this material. To adsorb carbon dioxide using an optimizing agent, the most favorable conditions must continue to be established to improve the textual properties of the material. EDTA is a compound that would allow to increase the adsorbent capacity due to the interaction that the greenhouse gas has with the nitrogen that the structure possesses.
