Resumen
This work is the final result of a study on the learning processes of contemporary dance phrases. The initial question was: What metacognitive strategies did fifth-year students use to learn contemporary dance phrases in the productions Por the Way on se Vediamo and La Consagración de la Primavera? The goal of recognizing and differentiating the strategies used by the students led us to a complex topic; pedagogy and the development of learning in individuals. That is why we approached the evolution of pedagogy in the 20th century and the different pedagogical methods or models. Afterwards, we took the constructivist model, explained its origins and the theories that have most influenced its development along with its main characteristics, as we believe that the constructivist model is the one that best fits the needs for teaching art, in this case, contemporary dance piaget and Vygotsky enabled new ways to develop pedagogy; these two researchers aimed to understand how cognitive development occurs in individuals. Their ideas, used for educational purposes, were of great help in building more effective teaching and more meaningful learning for students.
