Resumen
To fulfill this purpose, a broad theoretical framework of basic concepts such as: parameters, properties, techniques and technological developments that allow the operation of mobile telecommunications was documented, the technological advance of 2G networks to 4G LTE-Advanced was captured, the theoretical compilation and explanation of the characteristics of the radio interface of LTE mobile communications technology and their differences or advances with respect to LTE-A technology were also carried out, and the analysis was also carried out with respect to 5G, all this in order to select the main characteristics that differentiate the radio interfaces of 4G and 5G cellular mobile communication networks, to make a precise comparison between LTE-A and 5G technologies, in theoretical terms and by means of simulations with the Xirio Online simulation tool. In the simulations section, we sought to be as detailed as possible in explaining the parameters of the software and in the configuration of the studies, seeking to make this degree project as useful and clear a guide as possible for people who are interested on the theme. Then, the documented theoretical information and the results obtained through simulations of the LTE-A and 5G technologies were compared, to finish the degree project indicating the main differences, similarities, advantages and disadvantages of these generations of mobile communications.
