Resumen
The present study shows the results obtained from the chemical and biological study carried out on the leaves of the plant species Vaccinium floribundum Kunth (Ericaceae) collected in the department of Cundinamarca. The chemical study carried out on the leaves of the species, on the low and medium polarity fractions, allowed the isolation and identification of three mixtures and three compounds, where the first mixture was made up of an alcohol and a lactam (diphenylmethanol and 3-(2-methylpropyl)hexahydropyrrolo[1,2-a] pyrazine-1,4-dione), the second one by a quinone and lactam (hydroquinone and ethyl 5-oxopyrrolidine-2-carboxylate) and the third one by two flavonoids (quercetin e hyperoside), the isolated compounds also corresponded to a coumarin, a lactam and a flavonoid (3-(2-(diethylamino)ethyl)-7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin, 3-benzylhexahydropyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazine-1 ,4-dione and hyperoside respectively), which were isolated and first reported for the species in the country. The determination of the antioxidant capacity measured by the DPPH method in extracts and fractions obtained allowed to determine a promising antioxidant capacity for the total ethanolic extract and the dichloromethane and ethyl acetate fractions compared to the reference substance trolox.
