Resumen
Objective: This paper presents a model for telemetry systems in industrial processes, that uses technologies related to the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), to aid decision making and improve traceability and efficiency in companies. The monitoring of the production of a liquid bio-fertilizer in a 2,500-liter tank is chosen as a case study to validate this model. Methodology: The methodology applied is divided into four stages. It begins with a requirement analysis, which specifies the details and needs of the case study. The project is then analyzed and sized at the system design level. Next, the development is presented, along with the technologies used, both software and hardware. Finally, the tests performed guarantee that the system is operating properly. Results: A prototype is implemented with the capability to perform remote monitoring of the bio-fertilizer production tank, for which three (3) variables are monitored for 15 days: pH, temperature, and tank level. Additionally, the system also provides functionality for historical data visualization, alarm monitoring and report generation. Conclusions: The proposed architecture applied to the implemented prototype meets the specifications of a scalable, secure, and open telemetry system that can be extended to any industry that requires remote monitoring of variables within its production processes. This paper is submitted for publication in the scientific journal Tecnura of the Universidad Distrital FJC.
