Resumen
The image contains news about the Municipal Constitution of the Province of Bogotá, promulgated by the provincial Legislature on behalf of the people, establishing the organization and administration of the municipal government in the region. Divided into parish districts for its administration, the province is governed by a municipal government arising from the direct and secret suffrage of the Granada citizens residing there. The municipal legislative power falls on the provincial Legislature, in charge of the general affairs of the province, and on the parish councils, responsible for the particular affairs of each parish district. On the other hand, the municipal executive power is in charge of the Governor of the province and the mayors of the parish districts. The constitution also establishes the composition and functions of the provincial Legislature, composed of deputies elected by electoral circuits, and the mechanisms for the adoption and promulgation of municipal ordinances and capitular agreements. News published in The Repertoire, December 15, 1853.
